Today is my mom's birthday, and I wish her all the happiness she can hold on her special day. She likes to celebrate her birthday all month long, so I'm sure she will have an amazing adventure to tell.
Moqui Cave in Kanab Utah was pretty cool. It had dinosaur footprints that were discovered the year I was born, crystals and mineral rocks were on display, and it even had a bar. Our adventure in Utah was pretty epic and I have pictures to prove it. It was great spending time with my cousin and his family whom I had not seen in 16 years. My cousin took us to this place called CornBelly's and my son had the time of his life.
August has been a tough month with major issues all over the world. The world need us all to send love and peace to everyone no matter who they are. I am sending out my prayers, love and healing to everyone around the world who is in need. May God keep you and surround you in joy and prosperity. Stay strong and know that you are not alone.
It is my duty to bring happiness and joy to people, so I use my art to do just that. I just completed a new watercolor painting yesterday, and it has been many many years since I used watercolors. It all came back to me so naturally and peacefully. The process was so calming and fun, and now I can't wait to do more. A new watercolor exhibition is coming up for me that will be atTis Art Center & Gallery , so I am getting ready.
The latest shows that I have artwork in are listed below. I have two pieces in the Eclectic show in Arizona and one piece in the Alumni show in Georgia. Please check them out.

It has been a summer full of ups and downs so far, and I pray that things will point up more often. The Arizona heat and dryness has been key for the biggest wildfire I have every experienced. The smoke has made the air a bit unhealthy to breath, but atleast we can breath.
The town of Walker had their annual Walker Day a few weeks ago, and I had the pleasure of having a booth there.
It was my first time working this event and there were so many people there in the middle of the pine forest. It was great. Ladybugs literally swarmed my tent and myself. Joshua got a kick out of it.
After that fun time in Walker, the town had to be evacuated because of the Goodwin Fire. Parts of Mayer was evacuated as well along with many others that were in the path of the fire. The fire has burned 27,000 acres so far and it is still burning. It is 53% contained.
This is the view of the smoke of the fire from my deck. The sun is shining through the smoke.
This is a view of the Goodwin Fire from the car.
We are alright and safe, but others are still in shelters and wondering if they have lost everything. Please send your prayers out to the people of Yavapai County and to all of the 900 fire fighters who have been fighting this fire.
It has been so much fun to see my days filling with more and more activities that involves my art and hair candy. The 55th annual Mayer Daze was a hit for us, with many customers taking home a fist full of hair accessories. We had a big winner for our $75 worth of Hair Candy give away, and the new yellow tent got a lot of attention.
Our next event is The 47th Annual Walker Day June 17th from 11 am to 2 pm on Walker Road. Food, Fun, and bring the kids!!! Come on by and say hello and get some hair candy and art and other stuff. Look for the yellow tent.
Believe it or not, it snowed today in sunny Arizona. I can't get passed this cold snap. I just want to go to bed and curl up under a blanket. What is going on with the world? Oh I know, it's the climate change situation, and everyone need to understand that it is not going to get better if we don't make some changes. We all must work together to keep this ball rolling in the right direction, right?
I'm looking for a miracle, how about you?
My year has started out with a bang. I worked on an Esurance commercial and had a new photo shoot for my hair accessory line. So far so good. I am hoping for new customers soon and new opportunities to explore. Here are a few pictures of some of the highlights. This was a nine hour day that I was sitting in the hot sun, and forgot to drink enough water. Which caused me to get scary sick by the end of the day. Thank you God for getting me through that terrible situation.
Let the games begin. New year...new president... new era...new desires...new way of life. This is the time for all things new to come to light. New pain...new troubles...new problems...new issues. Dealing with all these new dilemmas can be stressful and overwhelming. We the people of this land must find a way to live together no matter the differences. Can you rise to the occasion? I can rise because I am an artist and artists are known to adapt and create the perfect conditions for themselves. I want to be happy, so I will be. I desire joy and peace around me, so I will have that too. Your life is in your own hands and no one else's. Remember that.
This is snow in Arizona and it looks pretty, but only when I'm at home safe and sound in front of the heater. Driving in it is one more new problem of the year.
The Holiday Show has begun at the Prescott Center For The Arts in Prescott, Arizona. The local artists have come together to produce a grand showing of handmade jewelry, pottery, dolls, paintings, books, hair accessories, crystals, scarves, hats, and many other crafty artsy things. Prescott happens to be a place that tourists love to come and explore, so these little morsels will be all gone soon. With any luck they will tell there friends where the hottest hair accessories are too.
Get some of this yummy hair candy and give them out to your friends and family for the holidays. They wont be able to stop talking about them. I got a lot of compliments on the name alone. I am so happy that my display turned out so well, and my sign topped it all off. Busy busy busy, I intend to be very busy this month keeping up with my sales so I must be going now. God give me strength to keep up this pace! Oh by the way, I am so very thankful.
This month started out with a bang with two different juried art shows that I found myself being involved in. One was a big surprise because I have no idea how they found me, so I had to say yes to the invitation just because.
The Day of the Dead art exhibition had a great turnout, and I enjoyed meeting some great people. This poster was pretty cool so I had to get a picture in front of it.
Thanks to everyone who came out to show their support for the arts and for the votes. The show will be up until October 30th so if you haven't seen it come on down. It is located at The Prescott Center for the Arts, 208 N. Marina Street (Willis St. entrance) Prescott,AZ.
Here I am at the first annual Fall for the Arts show in Prescott Valley. I have no idea how they found me, but it was nice to be included. I met a nice lady who just started painting three years ago, and she was asking me for advice. Imagine that! I love helping people any way that I can. Thanks to my friends Kathryn and Lewis Agrell for coming to see me and my art. I am so sorry that you got lost but I am glad you found it in time to make the day even better for me. Your cheerful smiles gave me strength. I wish I had gotten a picture with you guys before we left. Darn!!!
Thanks to Cathy Steverson for having me in the show, and to all of the nice ladies that were working it and keeping things in order, you rock!
This show will be up until November 21st and it is located at the Prescott Valley Public Library, 7401 E. Civic Circle, Prescott Valley AZ. My painting is on the first floor...and yes, it is for sale.
Here are the latest art events that are coming up for me this fall.
Day Of The Dead

208 N. Marina St., Prescott, AZ 86301
The opening reception is Friday October 7th at 5 pm to 7 pm.
The gallery will be filled with art by local artists that will celebrate el Dia de los Muertos, which means the Day of the Dead. This special time is historically celebrated by the Mexican culture with song, marigolds, food, bright colors, sugar skulls, candles, and many other ceremonial items. I will have one pen & ink piece in this juried show.
The Prescott Valley Art Guild Juried Competition 'Fall for the Arts 2016'
Will be held at the Prescott Valley Library 7401 E. Civic Circle, Prescott Valley, AZ October 13th to November 19th 2016.
The awards reception is Saturday, October 15th from 4:30 to 6:00 pm in the Crystal Room of the Library. Public is welcome.
I am not sure which of my paintings will be in this show but I am hopeful that at least one will be chosen. They were nice enough to invite me to be apart of this show, and I was very honored to participate. This is one of my favorite libraries and the building itself is quite beautiful, so I can't wait to have some of my art on display in such a breathtaking location. My son even begs me to take him there quite frequently just to walk around and look at the sculptures and walk up to the roof.
The fall also brings the Holiday Show at the PCA. I will fill you in on the dates when the time comes, but you can get your Christmas shopping done all in one location with this show. For the people who have everything, you will surly find something unique at this show. I will have my hair accessories and a few paintings at this show, so come on out and bless your friends and family with a piece of my art.
